As the lead Equipment Engineer working with the Maintenance department, your main focus is to implement engineering solutions necessary to resolve recurring and significant equipment failures; develop procedures, methods, and metrics necessary to monitor and improve equipment availability. Our process includes blown film extrusion equipment, film processing and handling equipment such as winders, unwinders and slitters.
To be a good fit for this opportunity you should have a demonstrated track record of identifying and correcting root cause failures in a manufacturing environment; ideally within a 24/7 production facility. Of course, you'll also showcase solid people skills to interact with a wide range of stakeholders, including production personnel, engineers, external vendors, and executive management.
What You'll Bring to the Table
BS in Engineering; BSME preferred.
Experience as a Manufacturing Engineer with a propensity for identifying and resolving equipment related issues.
Proven track record of understanding and improving equipment performance.
Knowledge of ISO certification and its significance within a manufacturing environment.
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
Well developed communication and interpersonal skills, including experience documenting systems and processes.
Proficiency in a Microsoft Office suite environment; efficiency with Excel functions and Word formatting is expected.
CAD experience relative to equipment design (AutoCAD & Inventor) is a plus
Experience implementing and maintaining equipment reliability programs is also a plus.

Position Specifics
This is an individual contributor role and you will report to the Maintenance Manager as you join a team of more than twenty employees, including Mechanics, Electricians, and Software Developers.
While you will receive some on-the-job training and guidance, we'll expect you to assimilate within our team and achieve the following goals within the first 90-day period:
Take the lead to execute specific equipment improvement projects.
Identify new opportunities for improving equipment reliability, develop implement the necessary corrective actions and/or equipment modifications.
Develop a system for recording and tracking repair history and changes in equipment performance.
At a high level, you'll spend about 75% of your time identifying new opportunities for improving equipment reliability, investigating, following up on and taking ownership of equipment failures; another 15% developing and documenting new processes/procedures; and the remaining 10% with collaboration and meetings. Specifically, your responsibilities include:
Improving equipment reliability including: investigating failures/recurring issues; diagnosing root causes of failures; implementing corrective action; and documenting to track and improve equipment reliability.
Collaborating with Project Engineering to maximize reliability and maintainability of new equipment.
Coaching Maintenance team members as necessary.
Development of equipment procedures and documentation for both existing and new equipment installations.
